Senegal have announced a very strong squad that includes Liverpool’s Sadio Mane, Chelsea’s Eduard Mendy, Crystal Palace’s Cheikhou Kouyate, PSG’s Idrissa Gana Gueye and Watford’s Ismaila Sarr.
The former Lions of Teranga captain lost two finals as a player and once as coach.
He hopes to make for the previous failures by winning this edition.
“I want this Africa Cup of Nations. I have been running after it since 1999,”
He said at the press conference after unveiling the squad.
“It is not the novelty (of the finals) that will make the difference, but they can bring a freshness of approach to the squad,” he said.
Senegal are in group B alongside Zimbabwe, Malawi, and Guinea and they will play their first game against Zimbabwe on January 10th 2022
