Watenga positive ahead of Ethiopia friendly match

Chippa United goal keeper Ismail Watenga is touted to start in goal for Cranes after a long exile .

He last featured for the Cranes four years ago and he is expected go take the numer one slot after the retirement of Denis Onyango.

“I am grateful for having joined the camp with the national team ”

“It has been quite long since I last been part of the team but I along the lads we are ready to fight for a very positive start to the World Cup qualifiers.”

The other goal keepers in camp are Charles Lukwago and Joel Mutakubwa.

Uganda are in group E alongside Rwanda, Kenya and Mali.

They will kick start their campaign on 2nd September in Nairobi.

Taddeo Lwanga, Moses Waiswa, Joseph Ochaya and Khalid Aucho are the other players to have joined camp yesterday.
