Morley Byekwaso’s men have been treated to a humble start to their CECAFA challenge cup defense after being held to a goalless stalemate by DR Congo.
The best chance of the afternoon kick off fell to striker Derrick Kakooza who failed to finish off an Enock Walusimbi cross.
Uganda were dealt an injury blow when KCCA winger Steven Serwadda was stretchered off and he was replaced by Bright Anukani
Anukani injected some urgency to a tight game and Uganda got closer to breaking the deadlock through his industry.
Villa’s Abadallah Salim and Saddam Masereka were also introduced to replace Karim Watambala and Julius Poloto.
Sam Senyonjo also came on for Steven Mukwala but neither change made a telling contribution to affect the game.
The Kobs will return to action on Sunday 25 against Tanzania at the Bahir Dar international stadium for their final group A match.
The group winners will be joined by the best second placed team to complete a quarter final line up.
