Vipers managed to get a narrow win of 1-0 against Soltilo Bright Stars at Kavumba Recreational grounds to keep their hopes of retaining their title alive.
The Kitende based side came into this game after losing to Mbarara city in the middle of the week and slipping to 3rd position.
The task ahead of them was a tough one facing a Bright Stars team that hadn’t lost in the last five games.
Vipers missed taking the lead in the 43rd minute after Yunus Sentamu missed scoring from the penalty after a foul on Aziz Kayondo.
However Bobosi Byaruhanga who has been missing from the squad in the past few games gave Vipers the lead in the 45th minute.
Bright Stars hopes of getting something out of the game were cut short when they recieved a red card in the 83rd minute.

The win leaves Vipers in second position on 56 points two off the top and their duration in second will depend on URA’s result tomorrow. Bright Stars on the other hand missed a chance to go fourth and might be dislodged from the 5th spot if Police win their game.
