KCCA cruise past BUL to go six clear on the top

The 13 times Uganda Premier League Champions showed immediate intent from the start but the visitors had answers to questions asked early on.

In the 4th minute, Kasirye Davis had the game’s first moment of offensive promise with a first time right foot shot. Bul keeper Keni was equal to the task.

Two minutes later, Achai crossed to Anaku who spectacular overhead effort flew over the bar.

At the quarter hour mark, Usama Arafati and Herbert Achai had some good interplay. The former crosses in the box to Anaku but his header flew wide.

At the half hour mark, Wasswa took matters into his hands, dribbled past three markers and laid a beautiful ball for Anaku who shot was saved by Bul’s Keni.

In 42nd minute, Usama won possession and passed to Anaku who laid a pass to Mato but his final touch was too heavy and the ball rolled wide.

With a minute added to the first 45 minutes, Innocent Wafula won possession in midfield picked his spot and struck the ball from 30 yards to give KCCA FC the lead and also bagging his first goal for KCCA FC.

After recess, Usama was fouled at the edge of the box, Wasswa stepped up to take the freekick. His effort flew inches over the crossbar.

In the 62nd minute, Morley rung some changes, Lwanga Charles and Yassar Mugerwa replaced Sadat Anaku and Usama Arafati respectively.

In the 68 minute, The referee awarded Bul a penalty after what seemed like a touch from Wafula on Bul’s Joseph Ssemujju.

Ssemujju stepped up to take the penalty and he kicked the ball into the skies.

Substitute Charles Lwanga turned on the magic once again and he sliced through opponents before shooting with his weaker foot to double KCCA FC’s league in 77th minute.

A minute later, Kizza Bukenya and Musa Ramathan were handed their first game of the season. The pair replaced Mato Rogers and John Revita.

In 80th minute, Davis Kasirye made it three goals for KCCA FC with an easy tap off Achai’s cross after Kizza Bukenya had done the most of the donkey work with quick feet and dribbles down the left flank. The goal took Kasirye’s tally to 5 goals this term.

Bul then pulled one back. Musa Esenu found the back of the net in the 80th minute.

Iguma Dennis could have made it four for KCCA FC but his shot from outside the box hit the upright in additional time.

KCCA FC picking the 7th win in 8 games this term. The 13 times Uganda Premier League Champions now have 22 points from 8 games.

KCCA FC visit Vipers next at St Mary’s Stadium Kitende on Sunday in what will be a battle of 1st versus 2nd.
