Uganda U-20 Women’s National team head coach Ayub Khalifa has expressed great optimism ahead of South Africa’s visit.
Uganda will host South Africa on Friday in first leg contest of the U-20 World Cup qualifiers at the St.Mary’s Stadium.
He promised that Uganda will play for nothing but victory
“We expected nothing less than a win, we have previously played against South Africa in the 2019 COSAFA U-17 and won the game. We have prepared the girls well and we are hopeful of a win tomorrow.”
Khalifa has warned his team to avoid conceding at home
“We have to get a better margin before the return fixture and we should avoid conceding at home if we are to progress to the next round.”
We have worked on the negatives in the defeat to Ethiopia and we are very ready to take on South Africa.”
Stated Khalifa
Uganda shred Kenya 10-3 in the previous round while South Africa beat Mozambique 4-2 on aggregate to reach this stage.
The aggregate winning team of this tie will face Ghana or the winner between Malawi and Zambia.
