Ibtissam Jraidib wins the CAF champions league golden boot

ASFAR forward Ibtissam Jraidi has won the Golden Boot Award of the just-ended second edition of the CAF Women’s Champions League tournament held in Morocco.

The Morocco international grabbed the award after emerging top scorer of the event, with six goals from five games to propel the host to a maiden title haul in the women’s football spectacle.

Jraidi launched her campaign in style in the colours of the Moroccan Army as she scored the 67th minute winner to hand the hosts a winning start with a 1-0 win over Simba Queens.

Her second came in the third match against Determine Girls as she scored in the 78th minute to seal a 2-0 victory and also ensure they finished at the top of Group A with nine points.

With six goals, the lethal forward edged favourite Mamelodi Sundowns’ Lelona Daweti and fellow teammate Fatima Tagnaout with four and three respectively to the individual accolade.

The 29-year-old’s third also turned out a first half matchwinner in Mohamed Amine Alioua’s ladies 1-0 semi-final victory over Nigerian side Bayelsa Queens.
