Wakiso Giants tactician John ‘Ayala’ Luyinda has commended his side for the great they put up against KCCA FC in the opening fixture of the 2022/23 season
The Purple Sharks lost 3-2 to the thirteen times champions but not without a fight.
“We were away and playing against a good side but I thank my players who put up a good fight save for the few mistakes from which we conceded,” he told the media.
“There were moments when we looked the part although it’s still work in progress and we shall improve in areas we looked timid at times.
On the game approach, Luyinda revealed that it was a strategy to be a little conservative.
“We were cautious in approach and wanted to hit them on the break and the boys perfected that. We created chances but unfortunately didn’t put them away and if we had converted them, the story would be different.”
Their next game is a trip to Maroons next on October 11.
