Sc Villa relieve technical director Andy Mwesigwa of his duties

16 time Uganda Premier league champions SC have decided to relieve Mwesigwa of his duties after he failed to respect the club hierarchy.

Mwesigwa is accused of making recruitments without consulting the club management.

The final nail in his coffin was the appointment of Steven Bengo and Robert Mukasa to the technical department.

According to sources, Mwesigwa angered his bosses by trying to sell defender Garvin Kizito without the knowledge of the club management.

Mwesigwa was appointed Villa technical director midway last season.

Former SC Villa head coach Petros Koukouras revealed that both Mwesigwa and team manager Dan Mubiru were not cooperative during his tenure which led to the team’s poor performances last season.

He served as Uganda Cranes captain between 2008 and 2015 and his final game in the national team colours was a 2-0 defeat to Guinea during the 2014 African Cup of Nations qualifier that was held in Casablanca. He was sent off in that contest.

The defender left SC Villa in 2005 and represented IBV Vestmanaeyjar in Iceland, Chinese side Chongqin Lifan, Ordabasy FC of Kazakhstan and Venicami Agdelen (Turkey) among others.
