Hosts Uganda have been drawn in Group A alongside Rwanda, Burundi and minnows Djibouti in the fourth coming CECAFA Women’s championships to be hosted by Uganda at Njeru.
8 teams confirmed to participate but there will not be a place for defending champions Kenya who are serving a FIFA ban.
Group B consists of Tanzania, who are touted as the favorites alongside Ethiopia, Zanzibar and South Sudan.
The tournament is expected to kick off on May 22nd and climax on June 5th at the FUFA Technical Center, Njeru.
Uganda and Burundi will use the tournament as part of the preparations for the forthcoming Women’s Africa Cup of Nations to be held in July
The Crested Cranes already entered camp in preparation for the tournament under coach George Lutalo.
