Tooro United beat Onduparaka to end 13 match winless run

Viola NANKYA

Onduparaka suffered a humiliating defeat at the hands of Tooro United at Buhinga stadium

In his first game in charge, he named two former SC Villa players in Ronald Magwali and Mohammed Senoga and the later proved so important after delivering the goods.

The win was even more impeccable that it was against a side who are in a free fall and has been dragged into the relegation mix proper.

It is imperative to note that Tooro United last tasted victory on October 23rd when they beat Mbarara city at Buhinga.

Since then, they have only managed one point and lost a whopping 13 league matches.

This evening, they appeared like a team ready to make a turn around and save their season.

Onduparaka should have gone infront on 36 minutes but debutant Norman Ogik’s ferocious shot beat Kenneth Lukyamu “Given” and hit the upright but it failed to bounce beyond the line.

The match went into the compulsory break with the scoreline reading 0-0.
On return, 10 minutes into the second period, winger Mohammed Senoga beat two men and stepped into the dangerous area.

Defender John Rogers failed to compose himself and fumbled onto the winger and the Center referee pointed to the spot.

Senoga stood up and hip hopped to bury home the opportunity which proved to be the match decider.

The result doesn’t impact on Tooro’s place on the log but his helps them cut the difference between them and 13th placed Onduparak to 7 points.

They will return to action on the 11th of February against Express FC at Wankulukuku.

Onduparaka will host fellow relegation challengers Busoga United in Arua on 11th February 2022
