Vipers beat 10 man Soltilo Bright Stars to close in on KCCA

Viola NANKYA

Vipers SC limped to a tender 1-0 victory over Soltilo Bright Stars who played the entire second period with a man less.

Youngster Ivan Ininimbabazi was harshly sent off by referee George Olemu following a challenge on Vipers marauding wing back Paul Willa.

The home side had fallen to an early Yunus Sentamu strike in the 6th minute and his goal prove decisive.

Ceaser Manzoki had an opportunity to ease the pressure on Vipers’ shoulders but he failed to beat Simon Tamale in six yards when he was handed a penalty following a foul on Yunus Sentamu in the forbidden area at the hour mark.

Soltilo Bright Stars played like a team in a mission to end their 5 match winless streak despite being a man down but that’s the best they could do with Senkatuka and Semayange all guilty of missing crucial chances.

Simon Tamale also played a huge part in keeping Bright Stars in the game after blocking a series of Vipers’ scoring opportunities.

The result keeps Vipers within touching distance of leaders KCCA who are on 27 points after 11 games, Vipers are on 26 with the same number of games.

Bright stars remain languish in the bottom end of the log, having only once this term.

They have only managed 7 points from 11 games and they will visit Police FC on the 29th of December.

Vipers will host Brian Senyondo’s UPDF at Kitende on the same date.
