Samuel Eto’o wins election to become FECAFOOT president

Samuel Eto Fils beat rival and incumbent Seidou Mbombo Njoya with 43 votes to 31. Five of the candidates pulled out of the election on the eleventh hour.

The former Indomitable lions captain promised to construct at least 10 stadiums, make new reforms and improve soccer academies during his reign.

” I have spoken to the business community in Cameroon and we are certain , we’ll get the right investors who accompany us in fulfilling our goals”.

He said,

“I’ll be remembering today as one of the proudest moments of my life. I’m deeply grateful to be elected as the new president of FECAFOOT. Every vote represents the energy and ambition of our football family to take our beloved sport to a level we’ve never seen before,”

Eto’o first task will be organising the upcoming AFCON tournament early next year in January and February.

He played for Real Malloca, Barcelona, Real Madrid in Spain. Chelsea FC in England and Inter Milan in Italy among others
