UGANDA vs KENYA: The Cranes aim to keep the chase on leaders Mali

St.Mary’s Stadium in Kitende will be the battle ground as Uganda host Kenya in a must win encounter as the Cranes vie to keep on tabs with leaders Mali.

The Cranes come into this contest on he back of an impressive double over Rwanda with 1-0 victories last month.

On the contrary,  Kenya suffered back to back defeats to Mali in the previous two games, (5-0 away and 1-0 at home).

This will be the 77th overall meeting between the two sides with Uganda Managing 30 wins, Kenya 22 victories and 24 games have ended in stalemates.

The two sides played out to a goalless draw in their first leg encounter in Nairobi.

Uganda are currently second in Group E with eight points and only need to win both of their games against Kenya and Mali to progress to the final qualification phase.

Engin Firat’s side are mathematically out but will be aiming to end their East African neighbours World Cup dream in the oldest rivaly clash.

Micho’s beleaguered charges will look up to inspiration forward Fahad Bayo who netted both of Cranes goals against Rwanda. Youngster Bobi Byaruhanga and Moses Waiswa are also expected to be productive.

Micheal Olunga and Japanese based striker Ismael Dunga are expected to light up the visitors attack.
