Tanzania topflight side Simba SC have confirmed the appointment of former Getafe boss Pablo Franco Martin as their new head coach.
He succeeds Frenchman Didier Gomes who was sacked by the club last month after being dumped out of the CAF Champions League by Botswana side Jwaneng Galaxy.
Simba was also interested in Mamelodi Sundowns’ Rhulani Mokwena and Milutin Sredojević were amongst a host of names linked with the hot seat but the club opted for the former Real Madrid assistant coach.

It is understood that the 22 time league champions contacted Uganda Cranes coach Micho Sredejovic but he turned the offer down.
Simba has been synonymous with Ugandan players and they are currently home to Ugandan midfielder Taddeo Lwanga.
