Youngster Marvin Oshaba scored the only and missed a penalty as the newly promoted side cruised to an emphatic win over Mbarara City at Buhinga Stadium in Fort Portal.
Oshaba’s goal came as early as the seventh minute and it gave Edward Golola’s men an early lead.
Mbarara City’s Henry Kitegenyi had two clear cut chances to turn the game into their favour but for his profligacy, all these were put to waste.
Towards the end of the second, half Oshaba was brought down by captain Hillary Mukundane in the forbidden area and referee Rajab Bakasambe awarded a penalty to Tooro United.
The resultant penalty was taken and Oshaba blew away an opportunity to consolidate the lead when his shot was saved by goalkeeper Muhammad Ssekeba
Both teams will be back in action on Tuesday 26th-October.
Tooro United will host fellow new bies Gaddafi while Mbarara City FC will be against the Army side UPDF FC.
