Wakiso Giants host KCCA FC in their 3rd meeting of the Uganda Premier league.
KCCA have won once and drawn the other but it will be the first under Morley Byekwaso as head coach for KCCA FC.
Bamweyana’s men are expected to have come of age now having played in the topflight league for two consecutive seasons and this season they must prove that they are ready to dine with the big boys.
They did some good transfer business with the acquisition of Busoga United striker Sharif Kimbowa and former KCCA utility man Moses Aliro plus a few other additions but it remains to be seen whether the exit of talisman Viane Sekajugo won’t bite hard.
Moses Aliro has been declared available to face his former paymasters and he is expected to start at right back for Wakiso Giants.
Morley Byekwaso is also under pressure to prove his doubters wrong after making a series of controversial decisions especially in the transfer window.
He let go many of the club’s promising youngsters and replaced them with experienced players .
TEAM NEWS:
Former KCCA players Moses Aliro, Lawrence Bukenya, Simon Namwanja and Tom Masiko are all available for the encounter but there will be no place for new signing Grant Matsiko who has been ruled out through injury.
The match also comes too early for the exciting Titus Sematimba whose documentation hasn’t been finalised.
For the visitors, longtime absentee John Revita is expected to make his return to active football for the first time in 9 months but new signing Emmanuel Wasswa is still nursing wounds of an operation he underwent last month.
Defenders Peter Magambo and Musa Ramathan join Charles Lwanga and Brian Kayanja on the treatment table.
