Uganda names squad for the 9th edition of the COSAFA cup

Uganda Crested Cranes has departed for South Africa this morning to take part in the COSAFA Women’s Championship that will kick off tomorrow at the Nelson Mandela Bay in South Africa.

Head coach George Lutalo confirmed a final squad of 20 players that has two goalkeepers, six defenders, six midfielders and six forwards.

This is the second time the Crested Cranes are featuring at the annual Championship as a guest team. The first time came in 2018 and finished third.

South Africa the record winners of the tournament and they have won it for the last 5 successive seasons.

The team and officials departed Entebbe International Airport in the wee hours of Monday.
