Jacob Ghost Mulee and his entire team has been sacked from their position as head coach and assistants for the Harambee stars with immediate effect.
The Football Federation of Kenya confirmed that Jacob Mulee,his assistants Twahir Muhiddin and the goalkeeping coach Haggai Azande are now jobless.
“Football Kenya Federation and Harambee Stars head coach Jacob ‘Ghost’ Mulee, his assistant (Twahir) Muhiddin and the goalkeeping coach (Haggai) Azande have reached a decision to part ways on mutual consent, effective immediately”.
A statement from FKF confirmed.
“FKF is immensely grateful to coach Mulee and his departing members of staff for their dedicated service and workmanship. This federation wishes them all the best in their future endeavors. The search for a new National Team head coach is already underway and an announcement will soon be made in that regard”, the statement said.
Mulee was appointed the Harambee Stars head coach in October 2020 to replace Francis Kimanzi.
He failed his immediate test since Kenya was unable to qualify for AFCON after they lost vital points against Comoros home and away.
In the ongoing FIFA World Cup Qualifiers(Qatar 2022), The Harambee Stars are in group E alongside neighbors Uganda, Rwanda and Mali.
They so far have two points from two world cup qualifying matches against Uganda and Rwanda.
They will host Mali in Nairobi on their 3rd attempt on 6th, October, 2021.
Assistant coaches Ken Odhiambo and William Muluya remain at the helms of the National Team currently.
