Fresh from being appointed head coach for the national Women’s football team, George William Lutalo has announced his first squad to start preparing for the COSAFA cup in South Africa .
He has been confirmed as Farida Bulega’s replacement. Bulega will be enrolling for a CAF B coaching license in Nairobi, Kenya scheduled for 6th September to December 15th.
Assistant and goalkeeper coach roles have remained Edward Kaziba and James Magala who maintained their positions respectively.
The COSAFA Women’s Championship will be held in South Africa between 28th September – 9th October 2021.
Uganda will also take part in the 2022 Africa Women’s Cup of Nations (AWCON) Qualifiers where the Crested Cranes will play Ethiopia at the first round phase.
The team will enter camp on 10th September 2021.
Uganda is pitted in Group C of the COSAFA Women’s Championship alongside Namibia, Zambia and Eswatini.
