Uganda Premier league champions Vipers SC have announced Brazilian Oliviera Gonçalves do Carmo as their new head coach.
They have been under the interim stewardship of Paul Kiwanuka since Fred Kajoba resigned from the position three months ago.
Mr. Lawrence Mulindwa the president revealed that Oliviera was the best choice from over 85 applicants who expressed interest in the job.
“It was a very rigorous process and we are very happy with the selection we made,”
“He is a Brazilian with a winning mentality but beyond that, his understanding of the game is precisely where Vipers want to be and we will offer him all the support we can to make Vipers the number one club not only in Uganda but also Africa.”
Olivieira was unveiled together with his assistant Marcelo Cardoso on a three (3) year contract and the pair will start work immediately.
He has previously coached in Brazil, Rwanda and Kenya
