Villa presidential hopeful withdraws from race

Candidate Joseph Kizito has withdrawn from the SC Villa presidential race with only weeks left to the polling day.

He confirmed the development in a statement and he has declared his backing for city lawyer and Busiro member of parliament Medard Lubega Ssegona.

“After a series of consultations with different stakeholders, I hereby inform the supporters and the Villa fraternity at large of the withdraw of my canditure for the position of SC Villa President.”

“In the same vein, I have had discussions with candidate Medard Lubega Ssegona and with the backing of my supporters agreed to rally behind his candidature. “

“In the usual Villa spirit, I have opted to serve in another senior capacity in the Ssegona team as shall be subsequently revealed.”

Following Kizito’s withdraw from the race, city lawyer Ssegona and former FUFA 3rd Vice president Denis Mbidde Ssebugwaawo  remain the only candidates in the race for SC Villa top boss position.

Elections are scheduled for August 28th 2021.
