Kambale fires Express into the CECAFA Kagame cup finals

Express FC are awaiting to face the winner between Azam and Big Bullets of Malawi in the finals of this edition of the CECAFA Kagame cup.

They came from a goal down to beat Zanzibar’s KMKM 2-1 to book a place in the final of the ongoing CECAFA Kagame Cup.

Uganda Under 23 striker Eric Kambale converted a last grasp penalty to ensure that Express reach the CECAFA final for the third time in their history.

Wasswa Bbosa’s men went a goal down just at the stroke of halftime when Ibrahim Abdallah Hamad’s free kick took a deflection off Arthur Kiggundu and beat goalkeeper Joel Mutakubwa.

Muzamir Mutyaba equalized with an exquisite free kick at the edge of the box in the 55th minute after KMKM defender caught the ball at the edge of the box.

Bbosa’s men continuously pushed for a winner which arrived in the last minute of the added three.

Winger Martin Kizza was brought down in the box and a penalty was awarded to Express.

Kambale calmed the nerves by hitting the ball hard enough with pace and deep into the top corner

Express will face the winner between Azam and Big Bullets of Malawi in the final slated for Saturday 15th.
