TOKYO 2020: Another member of team Uganda tests positive for COVID-19

 

The latest news from Tokyo indicate that another member of the team has to positive for COVID 19.

This was revealed in statement released by the general Secretary of the Uganda Olympic Committee, Beatrice Ayikoru.

“Today, we have learnt that a second member of our Team Uganda has tested positive for COVID-19. The member is asymptomatic and being looked after by the health authorities in Izumisano.

The rest of the team is well and continues to acclimatize in Izumisano. We remain firmly committed and focused on ensuring the safety and wellness of our team and working together with all relevant authorities.”

The statement read.

Lihanda on the other hand was the first positive case detected among athletes who are entering Japan for the games slated for July 23rd to 8th August in Osaka.

Japan on the other hand has never had a lockdown only instituting lesser strict measures.

The country also has the lowest vaccination rate among the most developed countries bwith only 6% of it’s population fully vaccinated.

More countries are slated to start accessing the country ahead of the games.
