Steven Serwadda, Derrick Kakooza, Isma Mugulusi, Kenneth Semakula Aziiz Kayondo have been named by Cranes head coach Abdallah Mubiru in the 23 man sqaud to South Africa
Preparations have been in high gear for the Uganda Cranes who are set to take on South Africa in a friendly on the 10th of June 2021. The game is slated to go down in Soweto at Orlando stadium.
Most of the players who had not yet joined camp have now reported especially international players and local players who were involved with their teams in the Uganda cup.
South African based players goalkeeper Ismail Watenga who plays for Chippa United and Waiswa Ndhondhi who plays for SuperSport United will join the squad once it touches down in Johannesburg.
After excelling at this year’s Afcon U-20 tournament, some of the Uganda Hippos team have gone ahead to receive numerous opportunities in different clubs.
It’s from this that Abdallah Mubiru decided to hand a chance to five of the U-20 players to represent their country.
Bobosi Byaruhanga, Abdul Aziizi Kayondo, , Isma Mugulusi, Steven Sserwadda and Derrick Kakooza are the youngsters who have been named in the squad.
The team is slated to take off tonight to South Africa aboard the Uganda airlines at 8:40pm.
The 23 man squad Mubiru named includes 23 players as listed below.
