Lubwama misses penalty as Wakiso falls short of overturning first leg loss over Police

Wakiso Giants will have midfielder Joshula to blame for their missed opportunity to seal a place in the semifinals of the Uganda cup.

Lubwama missed an 8th minute which would have seen them overturn their 3-1 loss to Police in the first leg.

Viane Sekajugo scored 2 times and these would have served to see them through had the leggy midfielder played his part and converted the penalty.

The Cops had done their work in the first leg last week when they beat Wakiso 3-1 at their own home .

The Purple Sharks needed to score 3 unanswered goals but they simply fell short of a sensational comeback by a single goal.

Viane Sekajugo’s goals in either half should have counted more had midfielder Joshua Lubwama not wasted a.massive chance in the 8th minute

Lubwama failed to convert a penalty when the game was still 0-0.

Police also had a chance to go into the lead but Wakiso Giants goal keeper Samson Kirya did some good work to stop Derrick Kakooza at point blank range.

Sekajugo’s first goal was a superb solo effort which beat Tom Ikarah off his line. His second came into the second half on 65 minutes which gave hope to the visitors.

It was Sekajugo again who came closest in the 85th minute but he unfortunately shot over the bar with Ikarah akreasy beaten.

The cops join BUL and Vipers in the semifinal line up which will be completed after KCCA and Express’ meeting at the same venue later in the evening.
