Hazel AINE

With just four games to end the season, Vipers camp has been thrown into disarray after their coach Fred Kajoba threw in the towel.

The Kitende based side who sit in 3rd spot in the table hoped to run down the title race till the last game as they are just two points behind table leaders Express.

The Venoms are also level with SC Villa in the Uganda cup waiting for the second leg that will be hosted by the Jogoos.

It’s reported that Kajoba was asked by Charles Basembe to choose between the job with Uganda Cranes and Vipers. He chose to go with the one of Uganda Cranes.

The now former coach Vipers is the goal keeping coach with the national team which are in camp for a friendly against South Africa in June 10th. His resignation comes two days prior to the second leg with Villa on Thursday 3rd 2021. Villa have an advantage after scoring an away goal in the 1-1 draw last week at St stadium in the Uganda cup quarter finals.

Vipers remaining four league games are against Onduparaka, BUL, Police and Kyetume.

It is not known whether the club will now be in the hunt of a new manager or retain Kiwanukka Paul as the caretaker for the season remainder.
