BUL FC beat FUFA Big League side Kigezi Homeboyz 2-1 at the Kabale Municipal Stadium to cruise to the quarter finals of the Stanbic Uganda with a 4-2 aggregate.
Going into the second leg, BUL were leading 2-1 having won the first leg at Bugembe in Jinja.
Kigezi HomeBoyz needed at least a 1-0 win to eliminate the Alex Isabirye coached side but their plan failed courtesy of goals from Musa Esenu and teenager Owen Mukisa.
Jonathan Muteesa scored for Kigezi HomeBoyz when he headed home from Grant Matsiko’s corner kick but his goal turned out to be a consolation at the end of the game.
Muteesa’s goal came at the stroke of half-time after BUL’s Joseph Ssemujju had his penalty saved by goalkeeper Ismail Zziwa in the 26th minute.
Esenu replaced Deogracious Ojok at the start of the second half and subsequently scored the equalizer for the visitors in the 60th minute.
17 year old Mukisa was also introduced for Simon Peter Oketch in the 80th minute and scored the winning goal six minutes later.
BUL will now face Proline FC, another FUFA Big League side in the quarter final. The first leg will be played on Friday 28th May at the MTN Omondi Stadium in Lugogo.
The quarter finals already got underway with SC Villa drawing 1-1 with Vipers at Kitende.
KCCA will visit Express at Wankulukuku whereas Wakiso Giants will take on Police FC on Thursday.
