Balinya, Lwanga on target as KCCA cruise past Busoga United

KCCA FC beat Busoga United 3-1 at the MTN Omondi Stadium in Lugogo in one the two Uganda Premier League games played on Sunday.

Juma Balinya, Charles Lwanga and Gift Ali scored KCCA’s goals of the game while Ibrahim Ekellot managed a consolation for Busoga United.   

Balinya opened the scoring with a brilliant free kick just outside the box following a foul on Peter Magambo in the 27th minute.

Lwanga doubled the lead in the 34th minute from Steven Sserwadda’s delivery. The strike was Lwanga’s 10th goal of the season. 

Four minutes later, Ekellot pulled one back for the visitors which later turned out to be a mere consolation.  

Gift Ali scored his first goal in the KCCA colors when he converted from the penalty mark following Abubakar Otwao’s handball in the box in the 76th minute.  

KCCA FC remained 4th with 45 points while Busoga United stayed 13th with only three points above the drop zone.
