Amuria High School and Ajax Queens successfully booked places in the quarter finals of the FUFA Women Elite League as Group C climaxed on Sunday.
Ajax Queens thumped debutants St Peter’s Apoi Girls 5-1 while Amuria High School edged rivals Vision WFC 1-0.
Ajax Queens’ striker Annet Namwenge scored a hat trick and took her tally to four goals while Moureen Nangozi scored the other before Naome Awol’s own goal completed the rout.
The five goals came after St. Peter’s Apoi had taken a surprising lead in the 15th minute through Stamulat Unija.
St. Peter’s finished bottom of the table with no point garnered and conceded 18 goals in the three games played.
Ajax Queens finished second with six points, three behind leaders Amuria High School.
Lukia Aringo scored the lone goal for Amuria against Vision who finished third with three points.
The Women Elite League will continue on Tuesday when Group D takes center stage. It has Wakiso Hill, She Maroons, Echoes High School and Lango Queens.
