FWEL: Ajax Queens snatch hard-drilled win over Vision WFC

Ajax Queens Bulenga recovered from their first match defeat with a 1-0 win over Vision Women Football Club in the early kick of Friday at Njeru.

Ajax Queens had lost their first game of the group 3-2 to Amuria High School and needed to win against Vision so as to enhance chances of qualifying for the quarter finals.

Vision came into this encounter leading the group after thumping debutants St. Peter’s Apoi Girls 5-0.

Striker Margaret Nalubega scored the all important goal in the 8th minute and gave Ajax Queens the much needed victory.

Nalubega had her feeble shot deflected by off defender Recho Acio and beat goalkeeper Irene Alum.

Vision were reduced to 10 players after Sharon Akullo was sent off for a second bookable offense five minutes to normal time.

Ajax Queens will face St. Peter’s Apoi Girls in their final game on Sunday while Vision will take on Amuria High School.

The two top teams in the group will automatically qualify for the tournament’s knock out stages.
