Wakiso Giants thumped lowly placed Kitara 7-2 at Kabaka Kyabaggu Stadium to record their biggest win in the league since gaining promotion in 2018.
Joshua Lubwama, Edward Saturo, Gadafi Wahab, Rahmat Ssenfuka, Amos Muwonge and Viane Ssekajugo, who grabbed a brace, scored the seven goals for the Purple Sharks.
Patrick Kusemererwa and Edson Agondeze scored the two goals for the losing side.
Lubwama struck the opener in the 12th minute through a penalty after Phillip Ssempira fouled Ssekajugo in the box.
Defender Satulo doubled the lead with a low drive to mark his first goal for the Purple Sharks before Ssekajugo made it a 3-0 lead five minutes to halftime.
Wahab and Ssenfuka made it 5-0 with goals in the 57 and 65th minute respectively.
Ssekajugo completed his brace in the 72nd minute before Muwonge made it 7-0 in the 81st minute.
Kusemererwa and Agondeze scored for Kitara inside the final eight minutes of the game.
Wakiso Giants are now 9th with 30 points while Kitara sit bottom on the table of 16 teams having garnered 10 points.
Douglas Bamweyana’s men will visit on Tuesday while Kitara will host fellow strugglers MYDA on the same day.
