10-man Bright Stars hold on to overcome BUL FC at Bugembe

Soltilo Bright Stars edged BUL 1-0 at the Kyabazinga Stadium Bugembe to temporarily go fourth on the league table.

Defender Derrick Ngoobi scored the all-important goal as early as the second minute of the game.

Ngoobi’s goal was his second in two games having scored in the club’s 3-1 win over Mbarara City in the previous game.

In the 66th minute, Soltilo Bright Stars were reduced to 10 men and had to hold on in the final minutes to win all three.

Right-back Andrew Kaggwa was sent off for a second bookable offense following his foul on Thomas Kabale.

BUL FC are yet to win a game under new coach Alex Isabirye since he took over following the sacking of Arthur Kyesimira.

Victory took the Baker Mbowa coached side to 49 points heading into the final six games of the season.

BUL remained in the 11th position with 27 points, two positions above the relegation line.

The Jinja-based outfit will visit Wakiso Giants on Tuesday 18th May while Bright Stars will visit Onduparaka in Arua.
