Lowly placed side MYDA rallied from a good down to draw 1-1 with UPDF at the Military Barracks Grounds in Bombo.
Following a barren first half, UPDF broke the deadlock through defender Bright Joseph Vuni who headed home an Ibrahim Tembo cross in the 68th minute.
Earlier on in the second half, Brian Kalumba thought he had broken the deadlock but his strike was canceled for offside.
Former KCCA and SC Villa utility player Paul Musamali leveled the scoreline from Peter Mutebi’s cross with 12 minutes to normal time.
The Army men moved to 33 points and leapfrogged SC Villa to take the seventh position.
At the end of the encounter, MYDA’s goalkeeper Isaac Osikol was named the man of the match following his brilliant saves that kept his side in the game.
Despite the draw, MYDA stayed second from the bottom of the table with only 11 points accumulated from 23 games.
The Tororo-based outfit will host Busoga United in their next game at the King George IV Memorial Stadium on Friday 14th.
UPDF will visit Kefa Kisala’s former side Express on Saturday 15th at Wankulukuku in their next game.
