Soltilo Bright Stars striker Samuel Ssekamatte Kayongo and head coach Baker Mboowa have been crowned the best of April in the Pilsner monthly awards.
Ssekamatte was named the best player while Mboowa was voted the best coach.
The development was confirmed in a press conference held at Kati Kati Restaurant in Lugogo.
Ssekamatte scored six goals in six league games to beat competition from Police’s Ben Ocen who netted five times.
To win the best coach accolade, Mboowa beat Vipers’ Fred Kajoba. Mboowa managed to win five games and one draw to garner 16 points out of the possible 18.
Both Ssekamatte and Mboowa walked away with an accolade and Shs1M each from the awards sponsors Pilsner.
It should be noted that URA’s Sam Ssimbwa and KCCA youthful striker Sadat Anaku were named Pilsner’s Best coach and player of the month of March respectively.
