3 pointer as MYDA host Kyetume in relegation battle

With either side having rested for two weeks now during the Uganda cup action which they were all out of before the round of 16, the return of the Uganda Premier league sees MYDA taking on Kyetume today.

The game that is scheduled to take place at King George IV at 4pm in Tororo will see the relegation threatened sides tussle it out for what would be a valuable three points.

Both of these teams lie in the relegation positions though MYDA’s hill is a tougher one to climb if they are to dream of playing first tier football next season.

MYDA lies in 15th place on 9 points, 10 behind Kyetume who lie in 14th place on 19 points.

Kyetume on the other hand will go into touching distance of safety if they win this game as it will put them on 22 points just a point behind Wakiso Giants who sit in 13th position.

Kyetume will go into this game optimistic that Wakiso Giants could lose to table leaders URA whom they also play against today.

A win is therefore the only thing these two teams will be looking at this evening.

Head to Head

These sides have met just once and MYDA triumphed that time winning the tie 1-0 away.

In the last five games Kyetume has lost twice, drawing once and winning twice. MYDA on the other hand has lost four times winning just once.

Team News

Kyetume’s goalkeeper Joel Mutakubwa and defender Julius Ntambi are out following a suspension for match fixing allegations and are currently under internal investigation for the last game which they lost to Kitara.

MYDA on the other hand just mutually terminated the contract of their striker Ahmed Hussein Saleh after having sacked their manager Abdul Samadu Musafiri.

The game will be officiated by Katende Hamza assisted by Ngyendo Gilbert and Lulenzi Sharif with Olemu George as the fourth official.
