The Sand Cranes head coach Jamal Salim Muwonge has named a 16-man provisional squad to start preparations for the forthcoming Beach Soccer AFCON.
The squad will enter camp at the FUFA Technical Center, Njeru on Friday 7th May before being trimmed to 12 players.
The final contingent will fly out of the country on 18th May 2021 to Senegal where the tournament will be held from 23rd to 29th May in the city of Saly.
The Sand Cranes qualified for the Beach Soccer AFCON for the time ever after their Ghanaian opponents pulled out of the final qualification campaign in the eleventh hour.
Uganda is pitted in Group A alongside the Senegalese hosts, DR.Congo and East African neighbors Tanzania.
The Beach Soccer AFCON will serve as the qualification route for the best two African teams to the 2021 FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup to be held in Russia.
