Joshua Lubwama scored twice and Viane Sekajugo scored the other as Wakiso Giants beat Police FC 3-1 to create a gap of 4 points above red zoned Kyetume.

The Purple Sharks had not beaten Police before in the league with the previous 2 meetings going Police’s way and a stalemate in this season’s first round.

Bamweyana and his men needed a swift reaction after suffering a disappointing 3-2 loss to relegation candidates Kyetume.

Wakiso were handed an early boost when Center referee George William Nkurunziza awarded them with a penalty following a foul on Viane Sekajugo in the 17th minute.

Lubwama converted the kick to take the pressure off the home side .

They were handed another penalty at the beginning of the second half which Lubwama converted to extend the lead on 57 minutes.

Lead marksman Viane Sekajugo put the score beyond reach for the visitors with a thorough finish

Herman Wasswa scored Police’s consolation in the 73rd minute.

The two teams will return to league action on May 7th when Wakiso Giants host UPDF and Police will visit Express FC on 8th May
