SC Villa fans verbally attack their team for poor results

Kenneth MUKISA

As their team trailed BUL FC in the league yesterday at Bombo Military Grounds in Bombo, a section of SC Villa fans lost their patience and started throwing insults at their team and head coach Edward Kaziba.

Substitute Mohammed Nsereko saved Kaziba and his troops of further embarrassment when he scored an injury equaliser to steal a point.

We are tired of seeing our team’s performance deteriorate every day. We also want to taste the happiness of victory like the other fans.”

“If you can not win matches leave our team now, you play with no interest at all like people who do not love this club”

Those were some of the words that were thrown to the players from a section of angry fans .

However, the fans’ reaction did not go well with the head head coach who called for and defended his players.

“I am disappointed with the manner in which our fans behaved. We are doing everything in our powers to see that the results improve but the players are suffering from fatigue”

We are playing so many games in a very short period of time an it has drained us a lot both physically and mentally. The team played against Mbarara city on Saturday and here we are against BUL after only 2 days. We hope to undergo some recovery and move again “

Villa have gone 5 matches without winning, leaving them in 7th with only 32 points out of 21 games.

Leaders URA are on 47 points meaning the Jogoos out technically out of contention for the league title.
