Byekwaso rallies his troops to continue chasing for the top

This season has not been one of the best for the garbage collectors as they had a disastrous first half of the season dropping points unnecessarily.

This even led to the exit of their manager Mike Mutebi who got replaced by the U20 Uganda Hippos finalist Morley Byekwaso.

Byekwaso has managed to turn around the club’s fortunes and are currently not far from the top of the table in 4th position 7 points behind table leaders URA.

Although the bookies do not favor them as title favorites this season with URA and Vipers being the serious title contenders, Byekwaso thinks otherwise.

After a draw in Mbarara and a win against Onduparaka at the Ababet Green light stadium, the man in the dugout felt confident that his team was back on track and all they need is to focus right now on the remaining ten games of the season.

“We have now got the morale of pushing for more because we still have games to play. Having reached 37 points, we need to put in more effort and see that we keep on winning games as we continue to chase those ahead of us,” Byekwaso said.

Byekwaso also added that the boys had to carry on this form and confidence got from the win against Onduparaka whom they had last beaten in 2018.

“This has been our first win here in a while. I want to congratulate the boys for the work they have done because it has been hectic. Onduparaka played well as always when they are at home. I salute them. I have not seen them attacking very much like this. Ondupraraka did that mostly through Living Kabon, he is a dangerous player.”

KCCA play Soltilo Bright Stars and will hope to replicate their current form if they are to dream of league silverware this season.
