“Congested fixture costing us valuble points”. Villa’s Edward Kaziba

Kenneth MUKISA

Only Onduparaka with 21 have less goals that SC Villa in the top 10 sides of the Uganda premier league.

Villa have scored 23 goals compared to URA’s 30, Police’s 40, Vipers’ 43 and KCCA’s 44.

They have now gone three league games without scoring a goal, the last coming on April 1st against MYDA in Tororo.

Villa have gone on to lose 1-0 to KCCA, drew 0-0 against Express FC and another barren stalemate with URA FC on Tuesday.

Those 4 games have come in a space of 3 weeks and it is against this background that Kaziba thinks it is for fatigue that his team aren’t progressing.

” The games come fast and thick, we played on Sunday and here we were again on Wednesday yo face URA”

“My team had a very good first half where they dominated possession but when we returned for the second half, they got tired and couldn’t move anymore”

He told the CleanSheet,

“I can’t celebrate a draw  but I will take it for a good result judging by the circumstances”

“Our focus now turns to the visit to Mbarara city whom we are going to face on Friday. We are going to undertake a recovery session and then embark on the Mbarara city match”

Villa are currently 6th on the table with 30 points, 13 behind leaders Vipers on 43 with 11 games left on the calendar.
