Uganda Cranes striker Emmanuel Okwi has backed Simba SC to go all the way and win the CAF champions league this season
Okwi who played for Simba on three separate occasions also revealed his strong connection to Tanzania and regards the country as a second home.
I will not be surprised to see them play in the finals and even lift the trophy. They deserve a lot of success this season given how good their squad is”.

He added that Simba’s strength lies in the quality squad which makes them the best team in Africa at the moment .
“Simba are a surprise to every football fan in Africa now, finishing as group A leaders infront of former champions like Al Ahly and AS Vita is no small feat. That shows how strong they are and are the best team in Africa now”
He added .
Simba’s best performance in the competition was in 1974 when they reached the Semi finals.
” I love Tanzania a lot because it changed my life for the most part. It has moreover given me the opportunity to get to where I am today so I am proud to love Simba”.
The quarter final.drwaa will be held at the end of this month at CAF’s headquarters in Cairo.
