Joseph Balikuddembe

Mbarara city have poured cold water on Express’ title expectations after holding them to a 1-1 draw at their own ground Wankulukuku. They now trail the leading pack by 5 points

The reverse fixture at Kakyeka stadium in the first round also ended 1-1 with Mbarara city again coming from behind

This time however, they did it with a man less, keeping Mbabazi’s ubeaten run since taking over from Brian Senyondo intact.

It was the hosts who drew first blood thanks to a fine free kick goal from new man Martin Kizza only 3 meetings after restart for the second half.

Express failed to make use of their numerical advantage which led the visitors on.

Striker Henry Kitegenyi stole a goal for them which they held onto and won an unlikely point .

Mbarara remain 10th on the log with 21 points. They host KCCA in their next league match on 20th Tuesday whereas Express visit Soltilo Bright Stars on Wednesday 21st
