Cameroon came into the return leg trailing by 2 goals to 1 suffered in the first leg where they played as hosts.
Chile were riding on goals from star girl Carla Guerro and Camila Saez. Ajara Nchout scored Cameroon’s life line in the first leg.
So when they played visitors to Chile, the South Americans had their work cut out. They only needed to avoid defeat.
The Indomitable Lionesses took control of the game with Nchout and Lucy Onguenne trying to make things happen.
Their mountain was made harder with midfielder Brigitte Omboudou seeing red. The notorious hard woman had already been booked by the referee and she recieved matching orders.
Omboudou’s red card cast a huge shadow over not only on Cameroons hopes but also Africa’s chance of having a second nation in the Olympics vanished in thin air. Zambia will be Africa’s only ambassadors
Chile joined Zambia Australia, Brazil, Canada, Newzealand, Sweden, holders USA and hosts Japan to the 12 team party.
