Kyetume’s winless streak extended to 12 games after stalemate with BUL

Sarah Kobusingye

Jackson Mayanja’s mission to save Kyetume from relegation began on a positive note after his men fought to snatch a point very late in the game.

Kyetume have now gone 12 games without a win, the infamous run stretches back to December 20th when they beat BUL at home.

Unfortunately BUL was not going to grant them any favours this time round.

They had fallen to a 78th minute goal from Robert Mukongotya which was good enough to win all three points for Arthur Kyesimira’s men.

Kyetume had won the reverse fixture 1-0 at Njeru which gave them more belief that a point was attainable.

Substitute Raymond Walugembe pounced on a loss of concentration in BUL’s defense to steal an equaliser. He had come on for Sharif Shaka.

The point earned for Kyetume does not make any significant impact on their table standing but only closes the gap on 13th placed Wakiso Giants. They remain 14th with 13 points.

BUL have also not moved any places with 21 points in 9th position on the table. Their next match is a visit to title chasing URA on Friday 16th at Ndejje .

Kyetume will visit UPDF at Bombo Military Grounds on Saturday 17th 2021.
