Majwega scores first half goal to hand URA edge over Mbarara city

Sarah Kobusingye

URA ejected Mbarara city to reach the Uganda cup round of 16. The two premier league sides played to a goalless draw in the first leg.

Striker Ibrahim Dada won the penalty for the tax collectors when he got brought down in the box.

Majwega stood up to take the resultant penalty but Muhammad Sekkeba saved the kick. Majwega however collected himself to bury the ball home when presented with the second opportunity.

URA captain Shafiq Kagimu tried to extend their lead but his good work of beating the entire Mbarara city defence yielded nothing after sending his shot in the side netting.

Sam Simbwa’s men held on to seal their place  1-0 on agreggate.
